Job summary

Proskauer is seeking a Research Specialist to provide sophisticated legal and non-legal research to lawyers, paralegals, and Business Services staff. Under senior supervision, you will support across practice areas and jurisdictions with various resources and tools.

You will conduct complex research, distill results into concise reports, set up alerts, and educate clients on resources and techniques, with periodic presence in offices as needed.

Qualifications

• M.L.S., M.L.I.S., or J.D. from an accredited school, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience at a law firm performing complex research.
• Strong legal research skills including research of complex legal matters and a wide variety of resources.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; ability to work remotely and collaboratively.
• Experience with emerging AI research tools and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide sophisticated, timely legal and non-legal research to Knowledge Services Clients across practice areas.
• Conduct complex research including case law, statutes, legislative histories, and regulatory materials.
• Distill, summarize, and customize findings into clear reports for clients.
• Maintain firm resources, alerts, and reference materials; educate clients on research techniques.
• Enter requests into workflow system and track time per policy.
