Job summary

Human Frontier Collective is offering a fully remote, 1099 legal fellow opportunity in the United States for a 6-month term with potential extension. Eligible applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and visa sponsorship is not available.

The role focuses on advancing frontier AI through rigorous legal research, regulatory interpretation, and collaboration with AI labs. Candidates should have a JD/LLM or be in a top 2L/3L program with bar admission preferred.

Qualifications

• JD/LLM or currently enrolled in a prestigious 2L/3L program.
• Bar admission in any jurisdiction strongly preferred.
• Experience as Attorney/Associate, Legal Analyst, Counsel, Law Clerk, In-House Counsel, Legal Researcher, or Law Professor.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on high-impact projects with AI labs and platforms to design real-world scenarios.
• Evaluate model outputs for accuracy and regulatory alignment and provide targeted feedback.
• Engage with a cross-disciplinary network within the HFC community and contribute to research and advisory work.
