GWR Legal Recruitment is working with a well-regarded law firm to hire an experienced Legal Cashier for a six-month fixed-term, fully remote role. You will manage daily bank reconciliations, allocate funds, support fee earners, and review client ledgers to ensure prompt refunds.

The role requires strong knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules and legal accounting practices, and you must work independently from home while communicating clearly via phone, email or Zoom. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• Legal Cashier experience essential.
• Strong working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules and legal accounting processes.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues by phone, email and Zoom.

Responsabilités

• Carrying out daily bank reconciliations across the firm's accounts.
• Investigating and allocating funds received through Internet Banking promptly and in line with firm policy.
• Supporting fee earners and secretaries on finance queries by email, phone or Zoom.
• Reviewing client ledger balances and working with fee earners to clear them once matters complete.
• Preparing and releasing electronic and cheque payments in line with firm policy and the SRA Accounts Rules.
• Moving costs and disbursements between accounts as required.
• Checking and processing bills.
• Taking card payments from clients over the phone.
• Recording incoming cheques and requesting postings where needed.
• Raising breaches with the Senior Accounts Manager and helping to fix them.
• Picking up other reasonable duties as the team needs
