Job summary

Intuitive Machines is seeking an experienced Optical Navigation Engineer at Level IV to provide technical leadership across Flight Dynamics for interplanetary missions. You will guide complex systems, software, and multiple projects, coordinating with spacecraft subsystems engineers and scientists to meet objectives.

The role requires leading development, testing, and validation of optical navigation solutions, and you will mentor large teams while overseeing risk mitigation and documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Eng., Astrodynamics, Astronomy, Planetary Science, Optics, Physics, or related discipline.
• PhD in Aerospace Eng., Astrodynamics, Astronomy, Planetary Science, Optics, Physics, or related discipline is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of optical navigation disciplines and software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning and design of ground-based and on-board optical navigation and camera systems.
• Lead analyses, calibration, observation planning, and image processing for planetary bodies.
• Coordinate with industry and mission partners to define objectives and deliverables.
• Shape software strategy, architecture, and development practices across teams.
