Job summary

Arize AI is hiring a Senior Open Source Design Engineer for a remote role in the United States. You will design and ship interfaces for Arize Phoenix, focusing on UI-driven and programmatic workflows across AI development, evaluation, and observability.

You will prototype agent interactions, develop design system components, and create visualizations for embeddings and evaluation runs. Strong React/TypeScript skills and a passion for accessibility and craft are essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and build product experiences for Arize Phoenix across UI-driven and programmatic workflows
• Create interactive visualizations for embeddings, traces, evaluation runs, and agent/tool workflows
• Develop reusable components and templates for the design system from concept to production
• Build Agent Experience primitives, including interaction contracts and human-in-the-loop workflows
• Enable agents to query, navigate, and trigger evaluations
• Shape patterns for humans and AI agents to collaborate within a shared workspace
• Prototype new AI features and UI patterns for visualizing performance and explaining AI behavior
• Use AI-assisted UI generation to accelerate prototyping while maintaining craft, accessibility, and consistency
