Job summary

American Family Insurance seeks a claims professional to investigate and manage high exposure property/casualty claims. You will determine liability, secure information, review coverages, arrange appraisals and settle claims, reporting to a Senior Manager, Litigation.

This is a predominantly home-based role with 80% remote work near an office within 35–50 miles, with occasional travel for meetings, trainings and culture events across listed locations.

Qualifications

• Coverage experience preferred.
• 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims handling across territories.
• Customer-driven solutions and service experience.
• Ability to handle complex claims efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Investigate origin and cause of high exposure claims and gather pertinent information.
• Participate in High Damage Reviews to address coverage issues and exposure.
• Handle 1st and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Conduct on-site inspections, evaluate damages, and negotiate with insureds and attorneys.
• Provide timely status updates and mentor less experienced adjusters.
