Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software development.
• 6+ years of experience with Java, including Spring Boot, Hibernate or JPA, and RESTful web services.
• 4+ years of experience leading engineers, including mentoring, code review ownership, and delivery accountability.
• 3+ years of experience with a modern JavaScript framework such as React.js, Vue, and Angular.js, including responsive, accessible UI development.
• Experience leading or co-leading modernization or migration of large legacy Java applications such as monolith to modular services or modern frameworks.
• Experience with database design, including writing and optimizing SQL such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Experience working with legacy Java technologies, including J2EE, JSP, or Servlets, developing migration strategies to modern frameworks, and providing production support and issue resolution.
• Knowledge of containerization and cloud deployment, including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or Azure, and DevOps tools and practices, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Jenkins.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery for modernization workstreams.
• Set standards for code quality, testing, CI/CD, production readiness, and drive technical decisions.
• Mentor developers and own production support escalation path for critical issues.
• Evaluate emerging tools and techniques and recommend system improvements.
