Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect to serve as the senior technology leader for the Cloud Solutions team. You will guide client engagements, shape solution strategies, and ensure deployments align with business objectives and enterprise standards.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams to drive measurable business outcomes across cloud, applications, and technology initiatives. Strong leadership and cloud expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in solution architecture, consulting, or customer-facing technology roles delivering enterprise technology solutions.
• Leading complex, cross-functional technology initiatives from discovery through implementation.
• Engaging business leaders to gather requirements and translate objectives into solutions.
• Advanced understanding of Microsoft Azure services, cloud architecture, identity services, networking, and security concepts.
• Working knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture principles.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management to influence decisions across levels.
• Experience with DevOps practices, IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
• Ability to drive adoption of architecture standards and delivery best practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical advisor and trusted partner for business stakeholders.
• Lead client engagement activities: solution discovery, workshops, and business case development.
• Translate business needs into scalable, practical technology solutions.
• Support full solution lifecycle: implementation, transition, upgrades, and support planning.
• Develop solution strategies, roadmaps, and delivery plans for cloud initiatives.
• Lead complex engagements from concept through deployment and transition.
• Collaborate with vendors, business leaders, and delivery teams for successful outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership to architects and delivery teams across the lifecycle.
• Evaluate options and recommend cost-effective, maintainable solutions.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Lead vendor evaluations and proof-of-concept assessments.
• Work with Cloud Center of Excellence to align with standards.
