Job summary

Lawhive is seeking a Law Librarian to serve as the research and knowledge backbone of our US practice, blending traditional librarianship with training and evaluating our AI agent, Lawrence. You’ll perform deep legal research, verify statutes and case law, and manage our precedents and templates.

You will also review AI-generated content for accuracy, maintain our knowledge taxonomy, and collaborate with AI, Product and Engineering to improve Lawrence’s research capabilities in a fast-growing

Qualifications

• An MLIS/MLS or equivalent qualification; a JD is a bonus.
• Experience as a law librarian or legal research analyst in a law setting.
• Expert command of US legal research methods and tools.
• Interest in AI and use of legal AI tools is a bonus.
• Experience organizing legal knowledge (precedent banks, taxonomies, intranets or knowledge management).
• Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, articulate complex concepts clearly.
• Highly motivated, proactive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and prioritization of research requests.
• Startup/scale-up experience considered a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth legal research, statutory checks and case law analysis to support attorneys across practice areas
• Structure and maintain internal document archive with precedents, templates and practice guides
• Build and manage our legal taxonomy for easy and consistent knowledge
• Manage access to research databases (Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg Law) and assist attorneys in using them
• Share knowledge through memos, updates and training
• Review AI-generated legal content for accuracy and citations
• Fact-check citations, statutes and references and flag outdated authority
• Collaborate with AI, Product and Engineering to improve Lawrence's research handling
