Job summary

Cayuse Language Connect, LLC is seeking a Translator to translate to agencies for individuals with language barriers. This remote 1099 Independent Contractor role covers education, legal, medical, environmental, and social services translations.

You will translate and edit materials in many languages including Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, and more. Applicants should have relevant certifications and a high level of language proficiency, strong cultural awareness, and the ability to work

Qualifications

High School/BA degree or equivalent in years of experience.
Medical Interpreting Training School.
Foreign Service Institute.
Legal Translation online certifications.
Certified Translation Professional (CPT).
AOC.
ATA Certified.
NAJIT.
Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters.
Must be fluent in one or more listed languages: Arabic, Cantonese, Farsi, German, Haitian Creole, Japanese, Khmer, Kinyarwanda, Mandarin, Nepali, Oromo, Portuguese, Romanian, Somali, Thai, Ukrainian, and Simplified/Traditional Chinese.

Responsibilities

Accurately translate spoken work situations like lectures, conversations, and meetings.
Utilize technology to transcribe spoken English in some settings.
Reading an original document and translating it into the language required.
Editing translated versions.
Will need to be sensitive to the culture of the original languages and the target languages during the translation process.
Other duties as assigned.
