Job summary

Ayres Associates seeks a Land Survey Technician/Crew Chief for a home-based role serving the Wausau-Stevens Point area in Wisconsin. Travel to project sites across central and northeastern Wisconsin will be required.

You'll work with survey staff, engineers, and project managers, performing field and office surveying, operating GPS/GNSS and robotic total stations, and using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Trimble platforms.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or bachelor’s in Land Surveying or related field.
• Three+ years of survey-related field experience.
• Experience with survey equipment and software (GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Trimble).
• Ability to work outdoors, navigate uneven terrain, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and office surveying and mapping tasks.
• Operate GPS/GNSS equipment, robotic total stations, and data collection technology.
• Utilize Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Trimble platforms.
• Support design surveys, construction layout, boundary surveys, and topographic surveys.
• Collaborate with survey staff, engineers, project managers, and Professional Land Surveyors.
• Follow OSHA requirements and company safety procedures.
