Job summary

LanguageLine Solutions is seeking a Karen–English Video-Phone Interpreter to work from home in the United States. You will render real-time interpretation between Karen speakers and English speakers across healthcare, government, education, and more.

You will receive training, ongoing development, and opportunities for advancement within a certified ASTM/ISO environment. A quiet, secure home office is required.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Karen and English; cultural competency.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Respond to video and audio interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Participate in online, video and audio training sessions.
• Deliver interpretation services via video and use a device to perform essential duties.
• Render accurate meanings per interpretation protocol without omissions or additions.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and courteous expressions.
• Maintain professionalism and calm during sessions, including high-stress calls (e.g., 911).
