Job summary

Alabama Connections Academy is seeking a Special Education Case Manager to oversee a caseload of students with special needs, participate in all steps of the IEP process, and ensure program compliance with federal and state regulations. The role can be performed from home or a local office within Alabama.

Qualifications

• Degree in Special Education or related Education Field.
• Must be K-12 certified.
• Experience with IDEA policy and/or administration in Special Education.
• Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office products).
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for events (marketing/state testing).

Responsibilities

• Develop, write and help implement IEPs.
• Ensure compliance of all IDEA documentation.
• Evaluate tests and assessments; complete progress monitoring.
• Communicate with parents/learning coaches to ensure IEP goals are met.
• Coordinate with teachers to implement specially designed instruction per IEP.
• Schedule and conduct IEP meetings in a virtual environment.
• Assist teachers and learning coaches with program modifications and strategies.
• Maintain documentation for the IEP process.
• Coordinate with service providers for related services as needed.
• Collaborate with third party vendors for transition planning.
• Maintain data in the Learning Management System and IEP software.
• Assist with state testing and accommodation administration.
• Complete transition interviews and draft transition plans.
• Other duties as assigned.
