Job summary

Peloton Technologies Inc. is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join a fully remote team.

Reporting to the Director of Software Development, you will design, develop, and test financial applications while delivering small features independently and contributing to medium-sized features with team support. This early-career role emphasizes learning, collaborating with developers, and applying best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience gained in co-op programs or summer placements beneficial.
• Experience with web development, databases, and programming.

Responsibilities

• Write clean and efficient code and practice the software development lifecycle with supervision from the team.
• Determine possible solutions to end users' needs with assistance from colleagues.
• Work with end user requirements, designing and developing code to create solutions.
• Apply common design and architectural patterns with direction from the team.
• Write adequate tests to ensure the correctness of code.
• Learn at least one technical area (eg. web application development, database design, API integration, etc.).
• Continuously improve technical skills and stay updated on emerging technologies.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to write, debug, refactor, and test code.
• Maintain an experimental mindset, trying AI-assisted approaches on their own work and comparing against writing by hand.
• Share learnings on AI-assisted workflows and ask questions when results are unclear.
