Job summary

Talantir is seeking a junior Developer to support and modernize our Careers web platform. You will work with senior engineers and the Infra team to deliver features, fix bugs, improve performance, and help keep the platform stable and secure.

The role is remote for candidates in the US or Canada. You will build Node.js endpoints, develop Vue.js front-end components, and progressively refactor CFML toward a modern Vue-based UI.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of professional experience or strong internship/project experience.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and building backend services.
• Experience building front-end features using JavaScript and Vue.js or similar reactive framework.
• Strong understanding of web fundamentals (HTTP, REST, JSON, forms, sessions, basic security).
• Experience with a server-side language (Node.js preferred; CFML/ C# / Java / PHP acceptable).
• Familiarity with Git and Git CLI; ability to navigate codebases and debugging.
• Clear communication and collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services using Node.js (API endpoints, integrations, business logic).
• Develop and enhance front-end features using Vue.js (forms, validation, API-driven views, reusable components).
• Maintain and extend an existing Adobe ColdFusion (CFML) application while refactoring UI towards Vue.js.
• Break down legacy CFML pages into reusable API endpoints and front-end components with guidance from seniors.
• Implement features from defined requirements, coordinating changes across UI, APIs, and backend systems.
• Troubleshoot production issues and assist with root-cause analysis.
• Work with HTTP APIs, JSON payloads, authentication patterns, and data flows between services.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and team delivery practices (Jira tickets, Git branches, testing, release notes).
• Collaborate with Infrastructure/DevOps on deployments, logging/monitoring, and environment stability.
• Contribute to code quality through refactoring and maintainability improvements.
