Job summary

Penbrothers is seeking a Junior Accountant to support the day‑to‑day accounting and financial operations for a U.S.-based client headquartered in New York. You will help maintain records, process transactions, and support month‑end close.

The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and eager to develop a strong foundation in accounting and finance, with 2–4 years of US accounting experience and proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–4 years of US accounting or finance experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office apps.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Process invoices, expense reports, payments, and other financial transactions.
• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries.
• Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with preparation of financial reports and schedules.
• Support budget and forecast preparation and variance analysis.
• Help ensure transactions follow company policies and accounting standards.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
