Job summary

Simera is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records. The role emphasizes precision, timely processing of transactions, and collaboration with the finance team in a remote-friendly setup.

You will assist with AP/AR, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting while upholding company policies. A background in accounting or related coursework is preferred, and strong Excel skills are essential for success

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• Familiarity with basic accounting principles and processes.
• Experience with financial transactions, reconciliations, and ledgers.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions accurately and timely.
• Assist with AP/AR activities.
• Prepare and process invoices, expenses, payments, receipts.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Maintain organized accounting records and docs.
• Review transactions for accuracy and proper classification.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closings.
• Prepare financial reports and account summaries.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and balances.
• Research discrepancies in records and transactions.
• Assist with journal entries and GL maintenance.
• Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Assist with audits by gathering documents.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve issues.
• Support process improvements and other accounting projects.
