Job summary

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a Judiciary Research Manager in the Data Analytics, Research and Statistics Division. The role supervises two teams across criminal, civil, and family research, performing advanced statistical analyses and disseminating findings to varied audiences.

The candidate will design research studies, manage data cleaning in multiple tools, and present insights to judges, senior managers, and external researchers. Hybrid work with potential remote days is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus five years of professional admin/manager experience including program development/implementation
• Three years of social science research including multivariate data analysis and advanced data analytics
• Three years of staff supervision
• Proficient to expert Excel
• Experience with SPSS or Stata; familiarity with SAS/SQL/PowerBI/Tableau/Focus-WebFOCUS
• Experience managing data from data warehouses or mainframe systems
• Familiarity with qualitative methods (focus groups, interviews) a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and implementation of criminal, civil, and family research
• Conduct high-level statistical analysis
• Convert complex data into understandable charts, graphs, reports, and statistical presentations
• Make oral presentations to judges, senior managers, and external researchers
• Manage Quantitative Research’s teams including managers and analysts
• Translate requests for statistics into research questions and data extractions
• Prepare monthly and annual statistical reports using Excel, SPSS, SQL, SAS or other tools
• Develop proof-of-concept methods for displaying and visualizing data
• Collaborate on data system updates from a data analysis perspective
• Facilitate reporting of NJ statistics to external stakeholders
