Job summary

YO IT Consulting is seeking a Java Open Source Contributor for a remote contract role. You will contribute to production-quality code, reviews, and documentation across open-source repositories relevant to the customer’s project.

The role involves designing and implementing algorithms and system components in languages such as C++, Python, JAVA, GoLang, Typescript, or Rust, and collaborating with other contributors to meet project goals.

Qualifications

• Experience contributing to large-scale distributed codebases.
• Familiarity with AI or machine learning systems is a plus but not required.
• Active participation in rigorous code reviews and software best practices.

Responsibilities

• Contribute production-quality code, reviews, and documentation to open-source repositories.
• Design, implement, and optimize complex algorithms and system components using one or more languages: C++, Python, JAVA, GoLang, Typescript, or Rust.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges, bugs, and performance bottlenecks in existing codebases.
• Collaborate with contributors and stakeholders to align deliverables with project goals and best practices.
• Create, maintain, and enhance technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Participate in code discussions and provide constructive feedback to elevate overall code quality.
