Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking a Java Open Source Contributor to help advance production-quality code in open-source projects. This remote contract role focuses on contributing, reviewing, and documenting components across multiple languages, with emphasis on scalable, well-tested code.

You will collaborate with a distributed team, participate in code reviews, optimize algorithms, and help establish best practices for software development and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Experience contributing to production-quality open-source codebases.
• Strong communication skills for code reviews and documentation.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and modern AI or ML workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute production-quality code and reviews to open-source repositories.
• Design, implement, and optimize algorithms and system components using one or more languages: Java, C++, Python, Go, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges, bugs, and performance bottlenecks in existing codebases.
• Collaborate with other contributors and stakeholders to align deliverables with project goals and best practices.
• Create, maintain, and enhance technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and onboarding.
