Job summary

Insight Global in Woonsocket, RI is seeking a Java Cloud Developer to design, develop, and implement enterprise digital solutions using Java and Spring technologies, delivering scalable cloud-based applications and APIs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on Java, Spring Boot and Spring MVC experience.
• 2+ years designing RESTful APIs and SOAP services.
• Cloud-based applications and Azure/OpenShift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC.
• Build and support RESTful APIs and SOAP-based services for enterprise integrations.
• Develop and maintain event-driven and messaging solutions using Kafka, MQ, and Spring frameworks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable tech solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and security across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Support front-end integrations and UI development with Angular or React.
• Contribute to CI/CD practices and DevOps initiatives to improve delivery and deployment.

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Cloud Developer to design, develop, and implement enterprise digital solutions using Java and Spring technologies. This individual will play a key role in delivering scalable, cloud-based applications and APIs while collaborating with cross-functional business and technology teams. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java development, API engineering, cloud platforms, and modern integration technologies.

Exposure to mainframe environments is beneficial but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC.
• Build and support RESTful APIs and SOAP-based services for enterprise integrations.
• Develop and maintain event-driven and messaging solutions using Kafka, MQ, and Spring frameworks.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security across cloud and hybrid environments.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing applications with Java, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC.
• 2+ years of experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and SOAP web services.
• Experience building and supporting cloud-based applications and services.
• Strong understanding of API design, integration patterns, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as IBM MQ and/or Kafka.
• Experience with batch processing and enterprise integration solutions.
• Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Cloud platform experience, preferably Azure OpenShift. Experience within the healthcare or health insurance industry.
• Experience working in hybrid environments that interact with mainframe systems.
