Job summary

TransPerfect is seeking a Portuguese-Brazilian linguist for remote MTPE and proofreading of IT-legal contracts. You will ensure legal consistency and Brazilian Portuguese writing standards while applying terminology from style guides and term bases.

This role requires native-level PTBR (or strong competence), experience with legal/IT contracts, and familiarity with CAT tools (MemoQ, Memsource/Phrase, Smartcat).

Qualifications

• Native-level Brazilian Portuguese is preferred; non-native linguists with PTBR competence will be considered.
• Hands-on experience translating or editing legal / IT-contract content is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with CAT tools MemoQ, Memsource/Phrase, Smartcat.
• Stable availability, able to meet daily output benchmark.
• Willing to complete our mandatory unpaid qualification assessment for IT‑legal domain.

Responsibilities

• Perform MTPE (machine translation post-editing) or proofreading for IT-legal contract content; ensure terminology accuracy, legal consistency, logical fluency and compliance with Brazilian Portuguese writing conventions.
• Strictly follow style guides, term bases and project requirements.
• Deliver assigned tasks on schedule; communicate proactively in case of ambiguities or delays.
• Participate in mandatory project‑specific qualification test before formal project engagement.
