Job summary

O.R. Colan Associates, LLC seeks a hands-on IT Infrastructure & Security Lead in Charlotte, NC to own security and compliance, strengthen core infrastructure, and set governance standards that scale with the firm.

Reporting to the CIO, you will drive SOC 2 efforts, access governance, backup and recovery, monitoring, and documentation while partnering with leaders to embed security into everyday operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of IT experience with hands-on systems administration
• 2+ years leading people or technical programs
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune or similar endpoint management, Windows Server, and core networking
• Experience implementing security controls and access governance in production environments
• Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or NIST CSF frameworks

Responsibilities

• Own the security and compliance program, including SOC 2 design, evidence collection, policy maintenance and auditor coordination
• Define and maintain access policies (least privilege, privileged access, onboarding/offboarding) and run access reviews
• Lead infrastructure architecture and engineering across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, endpoint, server, and network environments; oversee backup and business continuity testing
• Document systems and runbooks to ensure knowledge sharing and resilience
• Establish change management standards for infrastructure changes and automation
• Partner with the business to build security awareness and provide practical guidance to employees
• Report on security posture and program progress to the CIO and executive leadership
