Job summary

SAIC is seeking a mid-level Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support a government client. This remote role requires the candidate to be within 50 miles of the DC area and to attend in-person sessions at least biweekly as needed.

The position emphasizes implementing NIST RMF, FedRAMP, and FISMA controls, with skilled guidance on vulnerability management, network security, and defense-in-depth strategies. Strong communication and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have at least one of the following security certifications: CISSP, CASP, CISA, CISM, CEH, SSCP, GISP, GSLC.
• Bachelor's Degree required with 5+ years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DHS Public Trust.
• Specialized experience in three of the four areas: vulnerability scanning, OS/network knowledge, information security principles, and application/network security.

Responsibilities

• Provide objective advice to enhance cybersecurity resilience and protection.
• Participate in projects delivering client-focused results aligned with strategic goals.
• Assist in education and guidance on issues, trends, and procedures.
• Apply knowledge of NIST SP 800 family, RMF, and FedRAMP requirements.
• Evaluate security controls against FISMA and NIST guidelines.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to reach optimal solutions.
