Job summary

RGA is seeking a Software Engineering Manager for Investments in a remote-friendly setup. You will lead engineering teams to design, deliver, and operate technology solutions for the Investments organization and accounting operations, aligning with governance and security requirements.

The role requires hands-on leadership, deep knowledge of the investment lifecycle, and collaboration with product, operations, and data teams to ensure scalable and auditable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, application development, platform engineering, data engineering, or related technology disciplines.
• 3+ years of formal people-management experience leading software engineering teams, including performance management, coaching, hiring, workforce planning, and talent development.
• Experience delivering and operating business-critical technology products or platforms in a complex enterprise environment.
• Experience in investments, asset management, investment accounting, capital markets, treasury, finance, or other financially oriented business capabilities.
• Experience operating in an agile, product-oriented technology organization and partnering with Product Management, architecture, security, data governance, risk, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop software engineers across the full employee lifecycle; set expectations, strengthen technical capability, promote inclusion and accountability.
• Own predictable delivery and operational outcomes for the team’s products and services, balancing features, regulatory commitments, modernization, debt, reliability, and production support.
• Develop trusted relationships with Investments, Investment Operations, and Investment Accounting leaders to understand business processes and control points across portfolio management, trading, settlement, and reporting.
• Shape roadmaps with Product Management and Product Owners, refine outcomes, manage dependencies, plan capacity, and translate needs into engineering work within an agile model.
