Job summary

somewhere is seeking a part-time Stock Controller/Merchandiser for remote work to support inventory decisions for a fast-growing collegiate e-commerce brand. This role analyzes inventory and demand across DTC and wholesale channels, recommends reorder quantities, and helps improve inventory planning.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in inventory planning, demand planning, merchandising, or inventory operations.
• Experience managing or analyzing large SKU counts in an e-commerce environment.
• Strong understanding of DTC and wholesale/retail demand.
• Experience using Shopify, ShipHero, or comparable inventory/e-commerce systems.
• Ability to make sound inventory recommendations using imperfect or incomplete data.
• Understanding of seasonality, reorder planning, buffer stock, production lead times, and retail replenishment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Highly independent, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership with minimal supervision.
• Clear and professional written English communication, particularly through Slack.

Responsibilities

• Analyze inventory, sales, and SKU-level performance across DTC and wholesale channels.
• Determine which products should be reordered, increased, reduced, or monitored.
• Account for seasonality, historical sell-through, stockouts, wholesale demand, and production lead times.
• Support inventory planning across ~3,000 SKUs and multiple product collections.
• Support buying cadence and reorder planning.
• Balance DTC demand with wholesale and retail partner requirements.
• Help maintain and improve an inventory planning tool and explore AI use to improve analysis.
• Communicate findings, recommendations, and priorities through Slack.
• Work independently with minimal handholding and flag inventory risks or opportunities.
