Job summary

Orbis is seeking a hands-on Integration Engineer to join a deployed team supporting a government program. You will work with a Senior IE on technical discovery sessions, design and implement data connectors, and support deployments across cloud, on‑premises, and tactical edge.

The role requires 2–4 years in software engineering focusing on integrations, and proficiency in Go or Python, with experience in Docker, Kubernetes/Helm, and Ansible. Travel to the Middle East up to 40% is expected.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience focusing on system integrations or data pipelines
• Proficiency in Go (preferred) or Python for integration development
• Hands-on experience deploying containerized apps (Docker, Kubernetes/Helm)
• Strong debugging skills and ability to escalate when necessary
• Experience in customer-facing technical discovery sessions
• Familiarity with defense data standards and protocols (ASTERIX, CoT, STANAG, radar UDP)
• Background with military, law enforcement, or intelligence community operations
• Experience supporting international programs with distributed teams
• Understanding of service mesh concepts, mTLS, and zero-trust architectures
• Familiarity with edge-native deployment patterns and constrained environments
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tooling (Claude, Copilot, Cursor)

Responsibilities

• Execute integration delivery for assigned data sources from requirements to deployment and validation
• Participate in customer discovery sessions with the Senior IE and map network topology, data sources, and system dependencies
• Implement data connectors and integration plugins across air, land, maritime, and cyber domains
• Develop judgment on when to proceed independently and when to escalate to the Senior IE
• Deploy and validate integrations across cloud, on-premises, and tactical edge using Ansible and Helm tooling
• Stand up and configure platform nodes and validate cluster health post‑deployment
• Contribute to Tier 1 triage and diagnose integration-layer issues with the team
• Follow and contribute to integration docs, runbooks, and onboarding guides
• Support customer technical exchanges within your integration domain under guidance
