Job summary

Lumicera is seeking an Intake Specialist I to enroll new Specialty Pharmacy patients and manage patient records, demographics, allergies, medication history, comorbidities, and payer information. The role involves contacting patients and doctors, translating prescription information into the dispensing software, and triaging prior authorizations with providers and insurers.

The position supports a team under the Assoc.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• National CPhT and/or registration/licensure required per state.
• Minimum two years pharmacy support experience or healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Ability to work scheduled hours; shifts may vary; hours 8am–7pm Mon–Thu and 8am–6pm on Fri.
• Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives.
• Demonstrate cooperative and respectful interaction with other employees.

Responsibilities

• Place phone calls to new and existing Specialty Pharmacy patients.
• Enroll patients into specialty services including patient care management, copay assistance programs, and billing information.
• Answer inbound calls from patients, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Contact doctors to obtain necessary information.
• Manage assigned workflow queues and ensure accurate documentation of information and prescription order setup.
• Assist other areas in the facility as needed regarding pharmacy technician duties.
