Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• 2-4 years of experience in insurance verification preferred.
• Ability to read payer eligibility electronic returns and differentiate between plans, copays, deductibles and coinsurance.
• Must have accuracy, attention to detail, ability to follow directions, and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance benefits using the Workflow Daily Appointment Report.
• Follow procedures in VOI Training/Procedure Manual for daily tasks.
• Place calls to patients and insurance companies to obtain necessary verification information.
• Resolve coverage, referrals, and precertification issues; escalate complex cases to the manager.
• Update insurance fields accurately and ensure proper rebilling if needed.
