Job summary

Carter Murray is seeking a remote Insurance Defense Attorney to join a well-established and growing insurance defense law firm. This fully remote position offers ownership of a diverse litigation caseload and the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities include managing cases from inception through resolution, handling discovery, drafting pleadings, attending hearings and mediations, and negotiating settlements.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Bar in good standing required.
• Experience managing an active litigation caseload.
• Strong deposition, negotiation, and motion practice skills.
• Experience with general liability, premises liability, transportation, construction, products liability, professional liability, or insurance coverage matters preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage insurance defense cases from inception through resolution.
• Handle written discovery and depositions.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances.
• Work directly with clients, insurance carriers, experts, and opposing counsel.
• Negotiate settlements and develop case strategy.
• Prepare cases for trial and participate in trial proceedings.
• Independently manage an active litigation caseload.
