Job summary

Mercury Insurance is seeking an Attorney II to manage a caseload defending 1st and 3rd party personal injury cases, including bench and jury trials and binding arbitration. Many cases involve injections with values up to $150,000. The role offers a competitive base salary, incentive compensation, remote work flexibility, and a company vehicle.

An in-person interview may be required during the hiring process. Base salary varies by experience and location across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Requires a law degree and admission to the bar in the practicing state(s).
• Preferred: degree from ABA-accredited school and bar admission in practicing state(s).

Responsibilities

• Review new and transfer file assignments and issue initial evaluation letters within 30 days.
• Summarize discovery responses and medical records within 30 days.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, lay witnesses, and expert witnesses and prepare deposition summaries within 20 days.
• Perform law and motion tasks including legal research and drafting motions and oppositions.
• Prepare for and participate in trials, including pretrial documents, motions in limine, and posttrial motions.
• Handle miscellaneous tasks to defend insureds, including duties assigned by senior attorneys.
