Ocean Science Trust seeks an Institutional Giving Manager to lead grant prospecting, pipeline growth, and sponsorship activities. This part-time, 25-hour role is remote in California through September 2027, reporting to the Director of Philanthropy.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years prospecting corporate and foundation funders.
• 4–5 years forecasting grant revenue and building a funding pipeline.
• 4–5 years building proposals and award budgets with finance.
• Understanding science funding in government and OST independence.
• Track record of multi-year grants in science funding or marine STEM.
• Experience managing the full grant cycle for multiple institutional funders.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and identify new foundation and corporate funding prospects aligned with OST programs.
• Build and maintain a living grant pipeline with deadlines and likelihood.
• Mentor program leads on funders’ expectations and grant cycles.
• Develop peer relationships with program officers to engage funders as colleagues.
• Partner with program staff to surface fundable projects and match to prospects.
• Forecast grant revenue and manage budgets with the finance team.
• Manage sponsorships from agreement to reporting and benefits delivery.
• Collaborate with OST leadership to align proposals and sponsorships with needs.
