Piper Companies is seeking an Insider Threat Analyst to join a leading cybersecurity and technology services organization. The Insider Threat Analyst will identify, investigate, and mitigate insider risks through advanced threat detection, behavioral analytics, and proactive monitoring activities.

This role is a long term, open ended contract opportunity allowing you to work remotely in the United States. Responsibilities include insider threat hunting, building SPL queries in Splunk, utilizing

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, insider threat, security operations, threat hunting, or incident response.
• Hands-on experience with Splunk, including creating and developing SPL queries from scratch.
• Experience with UEBA or UBA platforms and behavioral analytics methodologies.
• Proven experience conducting threat hunting, investigations, and security event analysis.
• Strong understanding of insider threat programs, user behavior monitoring, and risk identification techniques.
• Experience analyzing large datasets, logs, and security telemetry to identify anomalous activity.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Aufgaben

• Conduct proactive insider threat hunting and monitoring across enterprise environments.
• Develop and optimize SPL queries within Splunk to support insider risk detection.
• Utilize UEBA/UBA platforms to identify anomalous activity and insider threats.
• Perform investigations involving data exfiltration, policy violations, and credential misuse.
• Analyze logs and user activity to determine scope, impact, and remediation actions.
• Collaborate with SOC, incident response, security engineering, HR, and compliance teams.
• Document investigative findings, threat intelligence, and recommendations for stakeholders.
