Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking an Insider Threat Analyst to join a leading cybersecurity and technology services organization. The Insider Threat Analyst will be responsible for identifying, investigating, and mitigating insider risks through advanced threat detection, behavioral analytics, and proactive monitoring activities.

You will conduct proactive insider threat hunting, develop SPL queries in Splunk, utilize UEBA platforms, and collaborate with the SOC, incident response, security

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cybersecurity, insider threat, security operations, threat hunting, or incident response.
• Proficient with Splunk and building SPL queries from scratch.
• Experience with UEBA/UBA platforms and behavioral analytics.
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive insider threat hunting and monitoring across enterprise environments to identify suspicious or malicious user behavior.
• Develop, create, and optimize SPL queries from scratch within Splunk to support insider risk detection and investigations.
• Utilize UEBA/UBA platforms to identify anomalous activity, behavioral trends, and potential insider threats.
• Perform detailed investigations involving data exfiltration, policy violations, credential misuse, and other insider risk scenarios.
• Analyze logs, alerts, and user activity data to determine scope, impact, and recommended remediation actions.
• Collaborate with SOC, incident response, security engineering, HR, and compliance teams to support insider risk management initiatives.
• Document investigative findings, threat intelligence, and recommendations for internal stakeholders.
