Job summary

Humana, Inc. is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coding Auditor to review inpatient hospital claims for proper reimbursement and to ensure accurate DRG assignments. The role supports cost reduction by improving coding accuracy and payer payments.

The position is remote with possible travel to Humana offices for training or meetings. Requires MS-DRG auditing experience and RHIA/RHIT/CCS certification.

Qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT or CCS Certification (required for 4+ years).
• MS-DRG coding/auditing experience.
• Experience reading and interpreting claims.
• Experience in inpatient coding reviews/audits in health insurance or hospital settings.
• Working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient hospital claims for proper reimbursement.
• Ensure accurate DRG assignments and coding accuracy.
• Respond to provider disputes in a metrics-driven environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle multiple priorities.
