Job summary

Trystar is seeking an Innovation Sourcing Manager to sit in Research, Development and Engineering and lead supplier discovery, RFQs, and qualification for early-stage and prototype buys. You will partner with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Product Management to ensure cost-effective, timely sourcing as designs move toward production readiness.

The role emphasizes hands-on sourcing from concept to production, negotiating agreements, and managing supplier risk.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technical sourcing, strategic sourcing, or product development sourcing.
• Proven experience collaborating with engineering, quality, and operations on manufacturability, cost, lead times, and quality.
• Demonstrated negotiation of pricing, terms, and supplier agreements including NDAs and MSAs.
• Hands-on sourcing from prototype to production readiness, including RFQs and source selection.
• Ability to source categories like fabricated metal and engineered components and learn new technologies quickly.
• Willingness to travel ~20% annually; working from a Trystar site is preferred; US-based remote possible with travel.

Responsibilities

• Identify and communicate sourcing risks early in development to drive mitigations and supplier development.
• Align with Commodity Managers and Enterprise Sourcing on supplier evaluation, development, and clean prototype-to-production handoff.
• Vet and qualify new suppliers for quality, delivery, capability, and compliance for new and established components.
• Own RFQ and quoting for new products and prototypes, including package preparation and negotiations.
• Identify and develop new sources and technologies; evaluate cost, quality, and capacity with Category Managers.
• Document and manage project sourcing strategies; provide updates on cost, risk, and status for phase-gate decisions.
• Track quality, supply risk, and BOM cost across all parts to support production readiness.
• Collaborate with Engineering on requirements, manufacturability, and supplier readiness for launches.
• Maintain current supplier documents (NDAs, MSAs, agreements) covering IP, supply terms, and quality.
• Support funds setup, invoice reconciliation, and remittance reporting for early-stage buys.
