Job summary

Red Carrot seeks a Journeyman Initiative Support specialist to serve as key personnel on a federal information literacy initiative. The role offers research, content, and subject matter expert coordination across the initiative’s website, taskforce, and communications work streams.

The position is remote and contingent upon contract award, with responsibilities spanning content collection, outreach, and material development to advance web usability and effective messaging.

Qualifications

• Experience engaging museums, libraries, and community-based organizations with partners.
• Experience with lifelong learning programming, including outreach to marginalized groups.
• Experience in information, media, or digital literacy research or strategy preferred.
• Background in social science or qualitative research methodologies preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect and assess suggested website content from the public, taskforce members, subject matter experts, and grantees against criteria.
• Distribute periodic requests to taskforce members and subject matter experts for new information and resources.
• Perform environmental scans and monitor literature for emerging issues relevant to web content and messaging.
• Coordinate outreach to existing taskforce members and support recruitment of new subject matter experts.
• Support development of wireframes, mock-ups, and content recommendations to maintain website usability and effectiveness.
• Draft communications content, technical assistance tool updates, and social media campaign materials.
• Support development of taskforce engagement plans and materials, including member guides.
• Assist with drafting and revising presentations and written materials for professional and political audiences.
