Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join the operations team, focusing on operational analysis and efficiency improvements. The role is fully remote within South Africa, supporting East London-based operations by evaluating processes, identifying improvements, and implementing solutions to boost productivity and reduce costs.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience, a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, and strong skills in lean methodologies and data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in industrial engineering, operations analysis, or a similar role.
• Proven experience applying lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Excel, Minitab) and process mapping tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis of operational processes, workflows, and performance metrics.
• Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement across operational functions.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize resource allocation, material flow, and labor productivity.
• Utilize data analysis and statistical tools to quantify process performance and measure improvement impact.
• Design and implement lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, value stream mapping, Kaizen).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful process changes.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and training materials.
• Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings, recommendations, and outcomes.
• Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies in operational efficiency.
