Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Incident Response Senior Manager to lead incident response efforts across security operations, forensics, DLP, and cloud security. You will coordinate with client stakeholders, legal, compliance, and executive leadership to drive decisive actions in high-severity incidents.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in incident management, 3+ years in leadership, and strong crisis communication skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in incident management, cybersecurity operations, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years in a leadership or incident response lead capacity.
• Ability to independently assume incident command during high-severity incidents.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional response teams across multiple cybersecurity disciplines.
• Expertise in incident response methodologies, escalation management, and crisis communication.

Responsibilities

• Assume Incident Commander role, triage severity, assemble response teams and initiate workflows.
• Make autonomous containment, escalation, and communications decisions during high-severity incidents.
• Own end-to-end response activities, coordinating across SOC, forensics, DLP, cloud security, legal, compliance, and client teams.
• Orchestrate multi-domain security functions to ensure timely response activities.
• Lead all incident communications including war room updates, executive briefings, and client-facing notifications.
