Qualifications

• 3 years minimum of interpreting experience; OPI/VRI preferred.
• National or State Interpreter Certification such as CHI, CMI, NIC, CI/CT, VQAS (if available).
• Fluency in English and target language; strong medical terminology knowledge.
• 40 hours or more interpreter training required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, time management, and basic computer skills.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethics.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interprets messages between non-English speaking patients and healthcare providers on-site remotely.
• Adheres to the National Standards of Practice for Interpreters in Health Care and to the National Code of Ethics for Interpreters in Health Care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
