Job summary

Kreative Technologies, LLC is seeking an IBM Database Administrator to install, maintain, and support IBM Db2 databases. The role focuses on keeping databases secure, available, and performing well for dependent applications.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of Db2 experience, strong SQL and shell scripting skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment while assisting developers and managing backups and DR procedures.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience administering IBM Db2 databases.
• Experience with Db2 on Linux, UNIX or Windows (LUW) or z/OS.
• Strong SQL and shell scripting skills.
• Experience with backup, recovery and performance tuning.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Continually required to use common office equipment including but not limited to computers, phones, scanners and printers.

Responsibilities

• Installs, configures, patches and upgrades IBM Db2 databases.
• Monitors database health, capacity and performance.
• Manages backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures.
• Controls user access and applies database security settings.
• Tunes SQL and database settings to improve performance.
• Supports developers with schema changes and deployments.
• Maintains database documentation and runbooks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
