Job summary

Woolpert, Inc. is seeking a Hydrographic Data Processing Specialist to join the Bathymetric Charting Data Processing Team.

This role supports remote work with the team in Eastern and Pacific Time zones, or in-office in San Rafael, CA or Charleston, SC for local or relocating candidates. You will manage multibeam and side-scan data using QPS Qimera and SonarWiz, perform QA/QC, and produce data and delivery packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in surveying/geomatics or comparable field with 3+ years of related experience, or Master’s with 1 year of related experience.
• Strong understanding of hydrographic survey principles and geospatial data workflows.
• Experience with industry standard software packages listed in the tools section.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily imports and processing tasks on multiday projects.
• Process multibeam hydrographic data using QPS Qimera, including data cleaning and surface generation.
• Perform side scan sonar processing with SonarWiz including mosaicking and reporting.
• Feature management and reporting in QPS Qimera and CARIS.
• Review acquisition logs and metadata from QINSy for workflow integration.
• Produce daily data packages and delivery packages.
• Conduct QA/QC to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
• Document workflows and improve processing standards.
• Coordinate with field teams to resolve data gaps and issues.
• Support project managers to meet schedules and deliverables.
