Forsgren Associates, a newly acquired Apex Company, seeks a Hydraulics Manager to lead the hydraulics practice, guide engineers, and ensure technical excellence across multiple projects. The role involves mentoring staff, coordinating resources, and managing client relationships.

Responsibilities include technical leadership on hydraulic and hydrologic analysis, bridge openings, culverts, floodplains, and drainage system modeling, with remote options for the intermountain west region.

Qualifications

B.S. in Civil Engineering required.
Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Idaho or ability to obtain within 6 months.
10+ years of Civil Engineering experience with hydraulics focus.
Strong understanding of hydraulics and hydrology in design.
Experience with 1D/2D hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS, SMS SRH-2D).
Familiarity with HEC-18, HEC-20, HEC-23 and HY-8.
Experience with FEMA floodplain management and permitting.

Responsibilities

Lead the Hydraulics Engineering Manager role and discipline lead for Forsgren’s Hydraulics Practice.
Mentor and develop hydraulic staff, set goals, provide feedback, support training.
Manage team workload, allocate resources across multiple projects.
Grow hydraulics practice by pursuing opportunities and client relations.
Oversee technical quality, project delivery, and adherence to standards.
Provide technical leadership on 1D/2D hydraulic and surface water modeling.
Coordinate with design teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
