Job summary

Penn State University’s Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) in State College, PA, seeks an experienced RF Research Engineer to manage complex RF and electromagnetic analyses, antenna design, and sensor system development. You will mentor staff and coordinate multi-disciplinary efforts to meet customer objectives and secure funding.

The role supports DoD and IC programs, with opportunities to present findings, lead proposals, and guide innovative RF sensor concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree - Engineering or Science.
• 19+ years of relevant experience.
• Background checks/clearances may be required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct research for multiple RF sensor development projects.
• Supervise staff scientists, engineers, and technicians.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary activities and define project scope.
• Lead novel RF sensor design initiatives and grant proposals.
• Present papers, lead symposia, and engage with sponsors.
