Job summary

NexTech High School in Grand Rapids is seeking a passionate and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging lessons and a dynamic learning environment while fostering a love for the Spanish language and culture.

The teacher will develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum, assess student progress, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, Linguistics, or related field.
• Valid Michigan secondary teaching certificate with endorsement.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English, with strong communication skills.
• Experience with diverse urban environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver high-quality Spanish language instruction.
• Incorporate cultural activities and resources to enhance language learning.
• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the mission of the institution.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
