Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of critical reading strategies, literary analysis, informational and argumentative text analysis.
• Ability to explain how to analyze author purpose, evaluate argument validity, interpret figurative language, and synthesize multiple texts for AP, SAT/ACT reading sections.
• Skilled at close reading, annotation and analytical response construction for high school texts.
• Adaptive instruction using diverse text selections and scaffolded annotation guides.
• Strong communication and an engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to individual students.
• Accept on-demand tutoring requests when available.
