Job summary

The ACLU of Texas invites individuals, including undergraduate and graduate students, to apply for an internship in the Operations Department. This internship is part-time (minimum 20 hours per week) and offered on a remote basis. Houston-based interns may work at our Downtown Houston headquarters.

Time commitment and duration are outlined for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 terms. Compensation is $17/hour, with a rolling application process and a focus on civil liberties and social justice.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR point of contact for interns throughout the internship lifecycle.
• Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and offboarding activities for interns.
• Partner with hiring managers and department mentors to ensure interns have meaningful assignments, training, and regular check-ins.
• Monitor intern progress, gather feedback from interns and supervisors, and support program improvements.
• Assist with recruiting for future internship cohorts, coordinating campus outreach, career fairs, and internship events as needed.
• Assist with tracking and monitoring the training via Absorb Learning Management System (LMS), including generating training reports and tracking tools.
• Research HR best practices, assist with HR metrics and reporting, document SOPs, identify opportunities for automation and process improvements, and support special projects related to HR.
