Job summary

Snohomish County is seeking a Project Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join the Compensation & Classification team. The HRBP serves as a strategic partner for developing and administering the County’s compensation and classification programs, collaborating with department leaders, HR colleagues, and unions to support workforce planning and job description updates.

Qualifications

• Experience with compensation structures and equity analyses.
• Public sector or local government experience.
• Expertise in position evaluation, classification reviews, and job analysis.
• Ability to interpret and explain HR policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.
• Attention to detail and strong verbal/written communication; customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise and leadership in HR functions with equity focus.
• Ensures policies align with laws, codes, contracts, and guidelines.
• Develops programs and training within budget and staffing constraints.
• Identifies opportunities to improve policies and processes; provides guidance to managers.
• Maintains county-wide consistency across assigned HR functions.
• Manages HR information systems to leverage data and training needs.
• Supports labor negotiations and related discussions as needed.
• Represents the department in meetings and interdepartmental initiatives.
• Advances equity and social justice within assigned functions.
• Represents Snohomish County at events and in public meetings.
