Job summary

Simple Solutions seeks an HPC on AWS Lead/ Specialist to design and implement high-performance computing solutions on AWS for complex workloads, including modeling, simulations, and AI/ML tasks.

This role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of AWS HPC services, and hands-on experience with IaC, benchmarking, and cost optimization; remote work is supported with collaboration across enterprise teams.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in HPC, distributed systems, or cloud architecture.
• Experience with AWS HPC services (EC2 HPC, ParallelCluster, FSx for Lustre, EFA).
• Linux administration, networking (Infiniband, EFA, MPI), and job schedulers (Slurm, Torque, PBS Pro).
• IaC and automation experience (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Scripting and development proficiency (Python, Bash, or similar).
• Monitoring and cost-optimization knowledge (CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus).
• AWS Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Advanced Networking preferred.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and build of scalable HPC on AWS.
• Deploy, automate, and optimize HPC clusters and data pipelines.
• Benchmark, tune, and monitor performance for compute, storage, and networking.
• Implement IaC using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
• Design high-throughput storage with S3, FSx Lustre, EBS, and EFS.
• Apply security and compliance best practices per standards.
• Mentor and lead cross-functional teams across stakeholders.
• Create architecture diagrams, reference implementations, and playbooks.
