Job summary

Community Housing Network is seeking a Housing Navigation Specialist in the Troy, MI area to coordinate intake, verify eligibility, search for housing, manage leases, and recertify participants. This grant-funded, temporary position runs through December 31, 2026.

The role requires strong communication, experience in housing programs, and ability to work across the service network. Travel is required within the communities served and the organization emphasizes an inclusive, trauma‑informed

Qualifications

• Experience in housing programs, intakes, or property management is preferred.
• Strong communication with vulnerable populations is essential.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or human services; related experience allowed.
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of Coordinated Entry System is essential.
• Proficient computer skills; organized and detail‑oriented.
• Valid driver's license and required auto coverage.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate intake for program participants and assess eligibility.
• Develop individualized housing plans with participants.
• Help participants address credit, utility arrears, or criminal record barriers.
• Refer to affordable housing aligned with needs and location.
• Provide guidance on housing applications, tenant rights, and responsibilities.
• Coordinate lease signing, landlord negotiations, and inspections.
• Represent CHN at events to promote program awareness.
